South Suffolk is a 2 horse race between Lib Dem and Conservative after County Council results.9.30.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sat 6th Jun 2009 The results of the Suffolk County Council elections show that Labour have been wiped off the political map of South Suffolk. Labour now have NO District or County Councilors within the constituency. Liberal Democrats held their 3 County seats in Hadleigh, Peninsula and Belstead Brook and just missed gaining Stour Valley after a recount and came close in Samford and Sudbury. The % share of the vote in South Suffolk (covered by the Babergh district) was Conservative 43.7%, Liberal Democrats 34%, Labour 9.3%, Green 1%, UKIP 3.8% and Independent 7.7%
