When Mayor he supported the campaign "Proud of Sudbury" to promote our local shops and services and he worked with the local British Legion to get funding for his idea of a Living War Memorial to tell the stories of those men from Sudbury that died in both World Wars. These Memorials can both be seen in the Sudbury's Heritage Centre in the Town Hall.
Nigel has tried to improve our community and he has been part of the Community Group working on a new Health Facility for Sudbury and the surrounding villages with the PCT and he has been a representative on the Masterplan for the Chilton Woods development trying to maximise the affordable housing and leisure facilities achieved from developers and minimising the effects of this mixed use scheme. Nigel's keen interests are how we can meet the threats of climate change and develop a green economy, a quality education for all our young people, the provision of affordable housing, reducing fuel poverty and the need for international development.
