Thank you Capel St Mary

A few weeks ago we selected Tom Bartleet to be our prospective candidate at the next general election ( see  Tom Bartleet selected as Liberal Democrat PPC for South Suffolk - Babergh Liberal Democrats (southsuffolklibdems.org.uk)  )

We decided to launch his campaign on Saturday in Capel St Mary.

When day broke it was lashing down with rain and we did wonder whether we should postpone things to another day. Would anyone turn up?

Despite the weather the photograph shows we had a fantastic turnout in support of Tom

The weather may have been wet and uninviting but the reaction on the doorstep was warm and welcoming. Lots of great conversations and support for Tom. It is clear the psycho-drama of the Conservative government as it focuses on infighting and factionalism rather than the issues that impact everyday life has created a mood for change.

We potentially have a long campaign ahead.
