FIX OUR ROADS!

There is one issue which gets brought up time after time when talking to voters

The state of our roads

Potholes and poorly maintained roads are costing Suffolk residents money and making everyday journeys less safe.

A  short while ago Suffolk County Council tendered a new contract to maintain our highways and we had an expectation that the state of our roads would improve

Driving around our rural roads in recent weeks  it is clear to see the state of our roads are poor and still  deteriorating.

Suffolk’s roads are crumbling, and local people are paying the price in damaged tyres, expensive repairs and unsafe journeys.

It doesn't have to be like  this. Things can get better as a look over the border in Cambridgeshire demonstrates

Liberal Democrat-run Cambridgeshire repaired 52,229 potholes in 2024/25, Suffolk County Council repaired just 19,159.

Suffolk's performance is just not good enough.

Residents deserve a council that treats road maintenance as a priority, not an afterthought. We need better long-term resurfacing,
faster pothole repairs and proper accountability for results.

Suffolk !can do better.

In Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats have shown that we can make a difference. Vote Liberal Democrat in Suffolk to allow us to make the same improvements here!
