Kevin Keable for mayor!

We were pleased to be joined by Kevin Keable at our Annual Meeting on Sunday

Kevin was recently selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the first Mayor of Norfolk and Suffolk that will be chosen at elections next May

He introduced himself as very much a man of East Anglia. He spent his  childhood days on the River Waveney and served his  apprenticeship in Great Yarmouth. Norfolk and Suffolk has shaped every part of his life.

Although still early in his campaign Kevin outlined his key priorities
 

💡 Powering Britain’s Future – turning our region into a clean energy superpower, creating thousands of good, green jobs.

🚌 Reconnecting Our Region – launching a low-fare, low-carbon bus network so no community is left isolated.

🎓 Building Skills for the Future – giving local people the training and opportunity to thrive in tomorrow’s economy.

🌊 Protecting Our Place – ending sewage spills, defending our coastlines and protecting our beautiful countryside.

He finished by saying " I’m determined to stand up for hope, hard work, and fairness, and to challenge the division and despair spread by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

They want to drag our region backwards, but we’re going to prove that our best days are still ahead."
