We listen to local people, roll up our sleeves and get the job done.
You may have seen the interview with the Tory party leader in which she criticised Liberal Democrats saying a “typical” Lib Dem is someone that “people in the community like” and think “‘Oh, he fixed the church roof, you should be a Member of Parliament’.”. Meant as an insult we take these comments as a badge of honour
We listen to local people, roll up our sleeves and get the job done.
Just look at what we’ve achieved so far in the three areas we took majority control of in last May’s elections:
In Cambridgeshire, the council’s first budget is providing £2.7m to protect holiday food support for families, so children don’t go hungry, protecting vital services like SEND, investing £40m to fix crumbling roads, and supporting community flood protection and renewable energy.
In Oxfordshire, the local team is providing investment for new electric buses and for community transport groups to upgrade their minibuses, helping them become greener, more accessible, and cost-effective.
And, in Shropshire, our team has helped save a local sports and fitness centre from closure, ensuring this vital community space remains open for the long term, supporting local health and leisure opportunities for families.
And there are successes like this in every area where Liberal Democrats are in power, right across the country.
From potholes to the cost of living, we are getting the job done and it’s a credit to everyone who supports our campaigns and gets our local champions elected. These are your victories!
